System Test Engineer

Summary:

The Software System Test Engineer will provide hands-on project leadership to the software system test effort. The candidate should have significant full product lifecycle exposure, and understand QA's role in each phase, from requirements through system release. Significant experience in system and customer scenario testing using commercial or customized software and test automation is needed. This position will also participate in QA analysis, testing, and documentation including generating, adapting, and executing test plans, automating test cases and communicating and coordinating with the Development Team, Product marketing Team, and other QA team members.

Requirements:

• Significant experience in system testing effort mainly in large complex scenarios, customer deployments and solutions.
• Experience in switching, VLAN, STP, AAA, TCP/IP and routing highly desired
• Experience in 802.11x, WPA, VRRP, firewall/VPN preferred
• Experience using various types of test equipment and tools as well as having a very clear understanding of simulating large number of end users
• Experience writing test plans, detailed test cases, and other formal test documentation
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, and outstanding trouble-shooting ability, and coaching and mentoring skills.
• Ability to apply industry best practices and standards when project requirements are lacking
• B.S. Degree in applicable field, preferably Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology

Responsibilities:

• Build, setup, config and execute system test cases
• Collect test requirements, prepare and review test plan with different teams, build and manage large test setups, reports results and refine test methods
• Work closely with test lead and developer(s) to resolve issues
• Work closely with support team and customers to recreate and test customer issues
