KOREA'S LEADING SYSTEMS INTEGRATOR LG CNS PICKS ARUBA FOR COMPREHENSIVE WIRELESS SECURITY
LG CNS Uses Wireless to Lock the Air Against Wireless Intrusions, Rogue APs and Other Unauthorized Use
SEOUL, Korea, November 2, 2004 - Aruba Wireless Networks (Aruba) today announced that LG CNS Company, Ltd., the leading systems integrator in Korea, responsible for all the security policies and wireless deployments of the multinational conglomerate LG Group, has installed Aruba's centralized security and wireless LAN management system to enforce their security policies and provide comprehensive wireless intrusion detection and protection across the enterprise.
LG CNS was founded in 1987 as a joint venture between LG and EDS Company. LG CNS currently has the largest market share in the Korean IT service market. LG CNS has seen its compound annual growth rate increase by 35 percent since 1987. The company has implemented large scale public IT infrastructure projects and played a major role in the Korean government's e-Korea initiatives.
"Security is emerging as the biggest issue in wireless deployments in Korea. We chose Aruba over competitive solutions because they have the best and most comprehensive solution for safeguarding our network against illegal and accidental wireless intrusions," said network personnel in charge. "Moreover, as our security policies change, we can use the same Aruba system to quickly change user policies, encryption types, and a variety of other attributes that ensure the highest levels of secure protection for our users."
"It is a great honor and opportunity to be chosen by Korea's LG CNS for wireless security," said Dave Butler, vice president, World-Wide Sales for Aruba. "LG's adoption of a centralized wireless security model signals to the Korean market that enterprise wireless technology can be easily deployed and securely provided on an enterprise-wide basis. We look forward to working with them in the future to secure their wireless data as well as other enterprises in Korea."
Aruba's signature Aruba 5000 WLAN systems and 34 dual-mode (802.11a+b/g) thin Aruba AP52s functioning as air monitors with advanced RF security are providing centralized wireless security and management of the LG CNS corporate headquarters as well as five other branch office environments in Seoul. The system is providing wireless intrusion detection and prevention including rogue AP detection and destruction, AP and station impersonation detection and prevention, ad hoc network protection, AP denial of service (DoS) protection, and protection against other wireless attacks such as man-in-the middle and MAC spoofing.
The same equipment can be used to provide secure wireless data in the future with the addition only of APs and a software feature to turn on the data features.
