ARUBA NETWORKS ADDS MORE MUSCLE TO LEADERSHIP TEAM AS USER MOBILITY CHANGES THE FACE OF ENTERPRISE NETWORKS
Key Management Additions Prepare Company to Breakaway in 2007
Sunnyvale, CA - September 6, 2006 - In response to significant growth in its business across all regions, and increased demand for purpose-built mobility systems, Aruba Networks today announced key additions to its leadership team that will help prepare the company to breakaway in 2007.
The new appointments reflect dramatic changes taking place in enterprise networking caused by a wave of new mobile users, devices and applications. They include a who’s who of industry leaders from world-class networking companies:
- Sriram Ramachandran, Vice President of Engineering
- Steffan Tomlinson, Chief Financial Officer
- Mike Guo, Managing Director, Asia Pacific
- Albert Benhamou, Vice President of Worldwide Channels
- Mark Bindon, Vice President of Customer Advocacy
- Gary Singh, Vice President of Marketing
- Aaron Bean, Vice President of Human Resources
“Historically, new devices attaching to the network have signaled profound market disruptions – and that’s what is happening now,” said Dominic Orr, president and CEO of Aruba Networks. “The devices being used to attach to enterprise networks are no longer stationary, and today’s networks aren’t equipped to deal with the new management and security problems that emerge as a result. This has created significant opportunities for a new leader to emerge and is precisely why we are attracting the biggest and brightest minds in the industry.”
Engineering
Building on its product strength and technical innovation in developing technologies such as mobility access control, fixed-mobile convergence and 802.11n, Aruba has appointed Sriram Ramachandran as its vice president of engineering. Ramachandran served as vice president of engineering for Juniper Networks security product group, managing 750 people in multiple global offices.
Finance
As chief financial officer, Steffan Tomlinson has extensive financial and operational experience, joining Aruba from Peribit Networks, which was successfully sold to Juniper Networks. Prior to Peribit, Tomlinson was the director of financial planning and analysis at Excite@Home, and has also held various finance and financial analyst positions at Oracle.
Sales and Channels
To aggressively support growing opportunities throughout the Asia Pacific region, Aruba has appointed Mike Guo as its managing director of Asia Pacific. Aruba has also appointed Albert Benhamou as its vice president of worldwide channels with the mission of creating world-class programs for partner training, joint marketing and new revenue-generating services. Benhamou has been a key player at Aruba for the past two years, successfully ramping the company’s EMEA sales and channel development as vice president of European operations.
Customer Service and Support
To support Aruba’s existing customer base of over 2,500 high-end enterprise customers and scale Aruba’s professional services, technical support and training programs, Aruba has appointed Mark Bindon as its vice president of customer advocacy. Bindon joins Aruba from Juniper’s enterprise product group where he managed a team of 100 employees performing customer support and logistics management-related functions.
Marketing and Business Development
Industry veteran Gary Singh joins Aruba as its new vice president of marketing and will be responsible for driving all outbound product, technical and marketing communications activities. Singh is well-known for helping pioneer the wireless LAN switching market at Symbol Technologies and comes to Aruba from Nokia’s Security and Mobile Connectivity division where he served as general manager and director of product marketing and management.
Aruba co-founder Keerti Melkote will continue his primary role as vice president of product management, adding business development responsibilities for forging technology partnerships that foster a new industry ecosystem focused on enterprise mobility.
Human Resources / Business Administration
To attract the industry’s best and hone the existing talent to deliver on Aruba’s Mobile Edge vision, Aruba has appointed Aaron Bean as its vice president of human resources. Bean comes to Aruba from Juniper’s security products group and Neoteris, where he held equivalent positions.
