Aruba Networks Access Concentrators are designed to secure network traffic from a user port across an IP network to an Aruba Mobility Controller, where security services are applied to all user sessions. The Access Concentrators appear as a transparent bridge to an end user device, such as a PC, laptop, printer or an Ethernet hub, and as an IP endpoint to the rest of the network.

When connected to an IP network, the Access Concentrator transparently establishes multiple GRE tunnels over the network to a Mobility Controller. All user traffic is securely passed through these tunnels to the controller. The Access Concentrators provide a truly user-centric network experience, delivering follow-me connectivity, identity-based access, and application continuity services for wired users. No logical or physical reconfiguration of the network is required.

Aruba Networks Access Concentrators are available in three form factors, to accommodate a variety of settings. Models include:

The Aruba Networks AP-2E is a low-cost, two-port wired access point which can be securely mounted to a wall socket gang box, and powered by 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet or externally powered, from an optional AC adapter.

The Aruba Networks AC-800-E provides eight 10/100 ports with one Gigabit uplink port and is perfect for conference rooms and small contractor guest work areas.

The Aruba Networks AC-2400-E features twenty-four 10/100 ports with two Gigabit uplink ports for deployments in wiring closets and larger conference areas.
