Large Public Venues | Managed WLAN Services | Service Provider Wi-Fi
Aruba HybridControl Carrier-scale Wi-Fi for Cellular Offload and Managed Services
With the rapidly emerging demand for hybrid offload and managed services, a new requirement has emerged for the unique combination of massive scale and enterprise-class capabilities across security, management, quality-of-service (QoS) and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) management.
Aruba’s new HybridControl architecture enables service providers to offer private Wi-Fi for managed services and public Wi-Fi for cellular offload to tens of thousands of locations while significantly reducing the cost, footprint and power requirements. It’s designed to address the most critical requirements for network operators– scale, security, robust RF performance, visibility and control, and integration with the core for unified policy management.
- Carrier-scale Wi-Fi – Aruba controller-less Instant access points at each site reduce core bandwidth needs by offloading traffic locally to the Internet, while intelligently centralizing important traffic, such as billing, legal intercept and managed applications to 7200 Series Mobility Controllers deployed in the core to deliver massive scale for Wi-Fi deployments.
- Value-added services for Wi-Fi monetization – With Aruba HybridControl, Aruba provides rich contextual information about user, device, applications and location to external analytics engines that can be leveraged to deliver value added services. The same contextual information is applied to optimize the air and deliver application-centric security, visibility and control for business-oriented, managed services traffic.
- Accelerated deployment and provisioning – Aruba HybridControl significantly reduces the deployments costs for Wi-Fi hotspots by up to 75 percent by offering zero-touch activation for factory default access points without requiring any manual pre-provisioning.
“Aruba’s wireless infrastructure was the only solution we evaluated that met the exacting requirements of this innovative new service offering. Their robust, reliable and easy to manage WLAN solutions meet our needs as well as those of our managed services customers.”
NTTBP President Tadao Kobayashi
