Aruba Certification Descriptions
Aruba Certified Mobility Associate – ACMA
An ACMA certified network administrator is able to deploy and manage a network based on a single controller. At this level the administrator must have knowledge of the following subject matter:
- Configuration wizards
- PEF policies
- Extended firewall policies
- RAP
- User roles and RBAC principals
- Basic controller provisioning
- 802.11 a/b/g/n
- Access point boot process
- Authentication using 802.1X and EAP
- RF planning tools
- 802.11 link layer encryption
- MIMO
- Serial-over-Ethernet (SoE)
- Mobility Controller maintenance
- WLAN monitoring
These subjects are covered as part of the on-line certification exam. It is assumed that all candidates for this certification will have completed Aruba’s Implementing Aruba WLANs (IAW) course. For convenience, candidates are automatically registered for and administered the ACMA exam upon completing the IAW course. The on-line ACMA exam consists of 40 multiple choice questions that must be completed within one hour. The certification fee is included in the price of the IAW course. ACMA certification is valid for three years: re-certification requires passing the then current version of the ACMA exam.
Aruba Certified Mobility Professional – ACMP
An ACMP certified network administrator is able to deploy and manage a large scale, multi-controller network. At this level of experience the administrator must have knowledge of the following subject matter:
- Aruba controllers and APs
- Aruba system architecture and design
- RF planning
- Using and building the firewall with roles and policies
- Authentication and encryption concepts and provisioning
- Multi-controller environments and redundancy
- Layer 2 and Layer 3 roaming operations and provisioning
- Intrusion detection
These subjects are covered as part of the certification exam. The exam is administered at Pearson/VUE test centers. It is assumed that all candidates for this certification will have completed Aruba’s Scalable WLAN Design and Implementation (SWDI) course.
The Pearson/VUE administered ACMP exam consists of 75 multiple choice questions that must be completed within ninety minutes. This is a fee-based certification – contact your local Aruba representative for pricing. ACMP certification is valid for three years: re-certification requires passing the then current version of the ACMP exam.
Aruba Certified Design Expert – ACDX
An ACDX certified network engineer/architect is able to design an overlay wireless LAN and remote networking solution for a complex campus and/or branch office environment. At this level of experience the engineer/architect must have knowledge of the following subject matter:
- Aruba controllers and APs
- Aruba system architecture and design
- Quoting Bills of Materials
- RF Planning
- Roles and Policies
- Authentication and encryption
- Virtual Branch Networking
- Multiple controller environments and redundancy
- AirWave Wireless Management Suite planning
- Answering RFP-style questions
These subjects are covered as part of the certification exam. The exam is administered at Aruba’s training facilities. It is required that all candidates for this certification have a valid ACMP certification. Prior to taking the certification exam, Aruba recommends that candidates carefully read all Aruba Validated Reference Design (VRD) guides, and complete the AirWave Wireless Management Suite Installation, Configuration, and Use course and the Outdoor Deployment Design and Implementation course. CWNA® and CWSP® certification are also recommended.
The ACDX exam includes creating a bill of materials, designing user policies, an RF Plan exercise, and answering a series of essay questions about network design similar to those that would be posed by an actual customer. The exam is 8 hours in length, and test results are returned within ten days. This is a fee-based certification – contact your local Aruba representative for pricing. ACDX certification is valid for three years: re-certification is achieved by passing a written ACDX re-certification exam.
Aruba Certified Mobility Expert – ACMX
An ACMX certified integration and post-sales network engineer is able to deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain an overlay wireless LAN and remote networking solution for a complex campus and/or branch office environment. At this level of experience the engineer must have knowledge of the following subject matter:
- Aruba controllers and APs
- Aruba system architecture and design
- Quoting Bills of Materials
- RF Planning
- Roles and Policies
- Authentication and encryption
- Virtual Branch Networking
- Multiple controller environments and redundancy
- AirWave Wireless Management Suite planning
- Answering RFP-style questions
These subjects are covered as part of the certification exam. The exam is administered at Aruba’s training facilities. It is required that all candidates for this certification have a valid ACMP certification.
