Web-Based Open Network Access Service

Configuration for this service is the same as Web-based Authentication service, except that a health check is not performed on the endpoints. A Terms of Service page (as configured on the Policy Manager Guest Portal page) is presented to the user. Network access is granted when you click Submit Action. For more information, see Web-Based Authentication Service.

The following figure displays the Web-based Open Network Access service page configuration dialog:

In Policy Manager 6.7.x and earlier releases, the Web-Based Open Network Access service type required an authentication source, preventing its usage for authorize-only flows, such as server-initiated login with SAML Security Assertion Markup Language. SAML is an XML-based framework for communicating user authentication, entitlement, and attribute information. SAML enables single sign-on by allowing users to authenticate at an identity provider and then access service providers without additional authentication.. An authentication source is no longer required to use this service type in Policy Manager 6.10.
