Deploying ClearPass Device Insight

Before you can begin to use ClearPass Device Insight you need to deploy ClearPass Device Insight. Following is a high-level process flow of the steps required to deploy ClearPass Device Insight:

  1. Access the sign up URL Uniform Resource Locator. URL is a global address used for locating web resources on the Internet. and sign up for an Aruba Central account using the Registration page. Enter all of the required information and in the Interested Apps section of the page, select ClearPass Device Insight.

    Your new account is created and an email invitation is sent to your email address for account activation.

  2. Access your email account and click the Activate Your Account link.

    After you verify your email, you can log in to Aruba Central.

  3. Provision the ClearPass Device Insight application with the Aruba Cloud Platform in Aruba Central:
    1. Log in to Aruba Central.
    2. Under Launch, click App Catalog.
    3. In the App Catalog, click Launch next to ClearPass Device Insight.

  4. Set up on-premises the ClearPass Device Insight physical and virtual appliances that will become the data collectors using the Collector CLI.

    A registration token is required when setting up a physical appliance or virtual appliance. To create a registration token:

    1. Log in to Aruba Central.
    2. In the Account Home page, under Global Settings, click Data Collectors.
    3. Click Registration Token in the Get Started dialog or the Configure Appliance card of the Data Collectors page.

  5. Create ClearPass Device Insight data collectors:
    1. Log in to Aruba Central.
    2. In the Account Home page, under Global Settings, click Data Collectors.
    3. Click Create Collector in the Get Started dialog or the Create Collector card of the Data Collectors page.

  6. Configure additional users for your organization:
    1. Log in to Aruba Central.
    2. In the Account Home page, under Global Settings, click Users and Roles.
    3. Click Add User.

  7. Configure user roles for your organization:
    1. In the Account Home page, under Global Settings, click Users and Roles.
    2. Click the Roles tab.
    3. Click Add Role.

  8. Configure the discovery settings for the ClearPass Device Insight data collectors in the ClearPass Device Insight application.
