Modifying ClearPass Device Insight Web User Interface Preferences

Network administrators can use the Settings page to modify ClearPass Device Insight Web user interface preferences. You can specify how the device status is configured and when the different Dashboards are refreshed.

To modify ClearPass Device Insight web user interface preferences:

  1. Go to Apps > Settings. The Apps Short form for application. It generally refers to the application that is downloaded and used on mobile devices. icon is located in the upper right hand corner of the web user interface.

    The Settings page opens displaying the current settings for Device Status Idle Timeout Settings and Dashboard Settings.

  2. Modify the following information:

    Device Status Idle Timeout Settings

    Online Status

    Modify the time in minutes when a device is considered online by entering a value or clicking the up and down arrow. A device is displayed as Online if the device has communicated within the time frame entered here.

    30 minutes appears as the default.

    Offline Status

    Modify the time in minutes when a device is considered offline by entering a value or clicking the up and down arrow. A device is displayed as Offline if the device did not communicate within the time frame entered here.

    1440 minutes appears as the default.

    Device status is displayed as Idle if the device did not communicate in the time frame entered in the Online Status field, but did so before it reached the time frame entered in the Offline Status field.

    Dashboard Settings

    Dashboard Refresh Interval

    Click the down arrow and select how often you want to automatically refresh the Dashboards (Classified Devices, Generic Devices and User Classified Devices). Options are:

    • Disable

      Dashboards are not refreshed.

    • 30
    • 60
    • 120
    • 300

      Appears as the default.

    If there is an active selection in a Dashboard (for example, some charts are selected) the automatic refresh does not occur.

    The Auto Refresh field that is displayed on the Dashboards is determined by this setting.

  3. Click Save.
  4. Click Default to reset the field values back to the default settings.
