Installing VIA Client for Windows
The following sections describe the procedures to install the VIA Client for Windows, which includes downloading the VIA Client from the Aruba support site, installing the software on the Windows device, and then downloading the VPN profiles that will determine how VIA securely connects to your network.
To download VIA:
1. Log in to
2. Navigate to Software and Documents and search for your desired version of Aruba VIA.
3. Download
4. On the screen, click .
5. After installation is complete, click to exit the setup wizard.
Ensure that all prerequisites have been met before proceeding with installation.

VIA 2.x continues to retain the connection profile even after uninstalling VIA 2.x. You can connect using this profile after VIA 3.2.x is installed. If you do not want to connect using the existing connection profile, clear the connection profile in VIA 2.x, and then install VIA 3.2.x. |
To install VIA:
1. Open the or installer file.
2. An message appears. Click to launch the .
3. After the opens, click on the screen.
4. On the screen, select the check box to accept the terms in the License Agreement. Click .
5. Click on the screen to locate and select the folder to which VIA will be installed. Click .
6. On the screen, click .
7. After installation is complete, click to exit the setup wizard.
VPN profiles must be downloaded in order to connect VIA. If VIA 3.2.x is newly installed on the device, the VPN download screen opens upon launching VIA. If an existing instance of VIA is upgraded to VIA 3.2.x, the list opens upon launching VIA.
Use one of the following methods to download a VPN profile:
To download a VPN profile using the
list:1. Launch VIA. The list opens.
2. Select a server from the list.
Add a VPN server
To add a new VPN server:
1. Click the button at the top right corner of the screen. The screen opens.

2. Enter the following details:
: IP address or FQDN obtained from the system administrator.
: Name of the VPN server.
3. Click .
To modify an existing VPN server:
1. Select a server from the VPN server list.
2. Click the edit button at the top right corner of the screen. The screen opens.
3. Update the following details:
: IP address or FQDN obtained from the system administrator.
: Name of the VPN server.
4. Click .
To delete an existing VPN server:
1. Select a server from the VPN server list.
2. Click the button at the top right corner of the screen.
3. A warning message prompts you to confirm that you want to delete the server.
4. Click .
Select a Web Authentication Profile
Next, you may be prompted to select a web authentication profile from the
list.

This screen only appears if the server has multiple web authentication profiles. If the VIA authentication profile, users can select a VIA authentication profile. Upon successful authentication, the VIA client downloads the appropriate VIA connection profile. list contains more than one |

Enter VPN Server Credentials
1. Enter the following credentials for the VPN server:
: Username, domain username, or email ID.
: Password or domain password.

2. Click .
3. (Optional) if client certificate-based authentication is enabled on the VPN profile, select a certificate from the certificate list.
4. (Optional) A message appears if the server certificate does not match the server name. Click .
5. (Optional) Select an from the list.
After the VPN profile is downloaded and the VIA connection is initiated, an authorized user warning message appears if a login banner has been uploaded to the controller. Click to finalize the connection.
To download a VPN profile using the VPN download screen:
1. Launch VIA. The list opens.

If VIA 3.2.x is newly installed on the device, VIA bypasses the list and opens the VPN download screen upon launching. |

2. Click . The VPN download screen opens.
3. Select . The screen opens.
4. Enter the IP address or FQDN of the VPN server.
5. Click .
6. Enter the following credentials for the VPN server:
: Username, domain username, or email ID.
: Password or domain password.

7. Click .
8. (Optional) if client certificate-based authentication is enabled on the VPN profile, select a certificate from the certificate list.
9. (Optional) A message appears if the server certificate does not match the server name. Click .
10. (Optional) Select a web authentication profile from the list.

11. (Optional) Select an from the list.
After the VPN profile is downloaded and the VIA connection is initiated, a warning message appears if a login banner has been uploaded to the controller. Click to finalize the connection.
To uninstall VIA:
1. Navigate to .
2. Select the Aruba VIA application.
3. Click .
4. A message appears asking you to confirm that you want to uninstall VIA
5. Click .
6. A message appears, reminding you that the uninstallation procedure requires the device to reboot.
7. Click .
8. Reboot your system. VIA is successfully uninstalled.
