Introduction

Aruba Central NetConductor, Aruba’s full stack solution, enables customers to deploy and operate campus, data center and branch fabric networks (consisting of Aruba CX switches, AOS-10 Gateways, AOS-10 APs and EdgeConnect SD-WAN Gateways) with the help of automated intent-based workflows on Aruba Central. It also provides unified policy orchestration and enforcement, including role-based segmentation security policies, across wired and wireless networks.

This guide is written to help network administrators design a campus networking solution using Aruba Central NetConductor. The guide covers role-based policy design for micro-segmentation, topology overall design including fabric design, multiple site and fabric options, hardware and licensing choices, capacity and scale planning, integration with third party devices, as well as migration planning and options. The overall NetConductor solution also includes Client Insights which is described in detail in related guides.

Deployment examples and instructions are found in Chapter 48 of the Aruba Central User Manual as well as in Aruba Validated Solution Guides.

For data center deployments requiring a low-footprint on-premise network orchestration tool, integration with Pensando PSM, VMWare NSX, ILO amplifier, etc., consider Aruba Fabric Composer as an alternative solution. For help with questions about how to choose the best solution, contact Aruba or partner SE.

Some pre-requisite knowledge is required to fully understand this document. For users who are less familiar with OSPF, BGP, and EVPN-VXLAN, a list of some suggested pre-requisite study materials is provided at the end of this document.
