Manage Firmware Upgrades for Gateways

To set a firmware compliance for all gateways in standalone mode, complete the following steps:

  1. In the WebUI, set the filter to Global.

    The dashboard context for the selected filter is displayed.

  2. Under Maintain, click Firmware > Gateways tab.

    All the gateways with standalone mode is displayed.

  3. Verify the firmware upgrade status for all gateways.
  4. Click Set Compliance.
  5. In the Manage Firmware Compliance window, enable the Set firmware compliance toggle switch.
  6. From the Groups drop-down list, select a single group or multiple groups. To select all the groups, click All Groups.
  7. Select a firmware version from the Firmware Version drop-down list.
  8. In the Upgrade Type, select one of the following options:

    • Standard
    • Live
  9. Select one of the following radio buttons to specify if the compliance must be carried out immediately or at a later date and time:
    • Now—Allows you to set the compliance to be carried out immediately.
    • Later Date—Allows you to set the compliance to be carried out at the later date and time. Select a specific time zone from the Select Zone drop-down options to schedule the firmware compliance in a specific time zone.
  10. From the Install On drop-down, select any one of the following partition options:
    • Primary partition—Select this if you want to install the firmware version in the primary partition.
    • Secondary partition— Select this if you want to install the firmware version in the secondary partition.

    The Install On option is only available for standard upgrade type.

  11. Select the check box if you want HPE Aruba Networking Central to automatically reboot.

    Automatic reboot check box gets disabled on live upgrade selection.

  12. Click Save.

HPE Aruba Networking Central initiates a firmware upgrade operation only for the devices that support the selected firmware version. If any of selected devices do not support the firmware version selected for the upgrade, a list of unsupported devices is displayed.
