Configuring LCD Menu

The LCD Liquid Crystal Display. LCD is the technology used for displays in notebook and other smaller computers. Like LED and gas-plasma technologies, LCDs allow displays to be much thinner than the cathode ray tube technology. Menu allows you to enable or disable the LCD functions either completely or for specific operations from the HPE Aruba Networking Central UI. The LCD Menu configuration can be done at the device and group level for HPE Aruba Networking gateways.

The LCD Menu is only applicable for Gateways with an LCD screen.

Listed below are the steps to enable or disable the LCD functions:

  1. In the HPE Aruba Networking Central app, select one of the following options:

    • To select a gateway group in the filter:

      1. Set the filter to one of the options under Groups. Ensure that the group contains at least one gateway.

        The dashboard context for the group is displayed.

      2. Under Manage, click Devices, and then click Gateways.

        A list of gateways is displayed in the List view.

      3. Click Config.

        The configuration page is displayed for the selected group.

    • To select a gateway device in the filter:

      1. Set the filter to Global.

      2. Under Manage, click Devices, and then click Gateways.

        A list of gateways is displayed in the List view.

      3. Click a gateway listed under Device Name.

        The dashboard context for the device is displayed.

      4. Under Manage, Click Device.

        The device configuration page is displayed.

  1. If you are in the Basic Mode, click Advanced Mode to access the advanced configuration options.

  2. Click System > General.

  3. Expand LCD Menu.

  4. Enable or disable the LCD menu parameters listed in the following table as per your requirement:

    Description

    Enable LCD menu

    Allows you to enable or disable the complete LCD menu.

    Default: Disabled

    Enable LCD maintenance

    Allows you to enable or disable the maintenance LCD menu.

    Upgrade image

    Allows you to enable or disable the upgrade image option in the LCD menu.

    Partition 0
    Partition 1

    Select the check box to enable the image upgrade on specified partition (0 or 1).

    Upload configuration

    Allows you to enable or disable the upload configuration option in the LCD menu.

    System reboot

    Allows you to enable or disable the system reboot option in the LCD menu.

    System halt

    Allows you to enable or disable the system halt option in the LCD menu.

    Factory default

    Allows you to enable or disable the return to factory default option in the LCD menu.

    Media eject

    Allows you to enable or disable the media eject option in the LCD menu.

    Select the check box to enable the media eject on specified slot (0 or 1).

  5. Click Save Settings.
