Configuring System Access and DNS Parameters for AOS-S Switches
To configure administrator credentials for AOS-S switches, complete the following steps:
- In the Aruba Central app, select one of the following options:
- To select a switch group in the filter:
- Set the filter to a group containing at least one switch.
The dashboard context for the group is displayed.
- Under , click > .
- Click the icon to view the switch configuration dashboard.
- Set the filter to a group containing at least one switch.
- To select a switch in the filter:
- Set the filter to or a group containing at least one switch.
- Under
A list of switches is displayed in the
view. , click > . - Click a switch under
The dashboard context for the switch is displayed.

- To select a switch group in the filter:
- Enter the username for the administrator user in the text box.
- Enter the password for admin in the text box and confirm the administrator password. A maximum of 64 characters are allowed.
- To configure the operator user credentials, complete the following steps:
- Move the Set Operator Username toggle switch to the on position.
- Enter a username and password for the operator user.
- Confirm the password.
- Move the Telnet toggle switch to the on position.

Configuring a DNS Server
To configure a DNS server, complete the following steps:
Configuring the Admin Username and Admin Password is optional when configuring a DNS server.

> > . - From the Name Server drop-down, select DHCP Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. A network protocol that enables a server to automatically assign an IP address to an IP-enabled device from a defined range of numbers configured for a given network. .
- You must add at least one DNS server IP address, when you select Static from the Name Server drop-down.
- You can add only a valid IPv4 address.
- You can add a maximum of two DNS server IP addressses.
- The first static IP address that you add is considered as priority. The second IP address that you add is considered secondary.
- Enter the static IPv4 address of the DNS server in the text box.
- Click the + add icon.
- To delete a static IP address, click the
delete icon.
If two IP addresses are configured, you can first delete the second priority IP address.

Adding Message of the Day
When the user connects to switch, the MOTD banner appears before the login prompt.
To add a Message of the Day (MOTD) in the
