Configuring Automatic Opmode Selection for Dual 5 GHz AP

Automatic opmode selection is available for dual 5 GHz Gigahertz. APs. When the opmode is set to automatic, AirMatch determines whether to use dual band Band refers to a specified range of frequencies of electromagnetic radiation. or dual 5G band. In the dual band mode, both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios are used. In the dual 5G band mode, the 2.4 GHz radio in the AP is converted to 5 GHz radio. Thus, two 5 GHz radios are used in the dual 5G band mode. Automatic is the default mode.

Manual setting of dual band and dual 5G band is possible. The manual setting overrides the automatic mode and explicitly enables or disables the dual 5G band mode. In this scenario, the AP immediately switches to the specified mode without a reboot and AirMatch maintains the specified channel and power assignments in the specified mode.

AirMatch supports automatic mode only on AP-345 access point and not on AP-344 access point. By default, the AP-344 access point assumes the automatic mode to be the same as dual 5G disabled and operates in the dual band mode. To switch a AP-344 access point to dual 5G mode, explicitly enable the dual 5G mode.

To configure automatic opmode selection for dual 5 GHz AP, complete the following procedure:

  1. In the WebUI, set the filter to a group that contains at least one AP.
  2. Under Manage, click Devices > Access Points.
