Troubleshooting Tools

In the HPE Aruba Networking Central app, use the filter to select a group, label, site, or a device and then, select Tools menu option under Analyze. The Tools menu allows network administrators and users with troubleshooting permission to perform troubleshooting or diagnostics tests on devices and networks managed by HPE Aruba Networking Central. Users with admin role and custom roles that allow edit access to the troubleshooting module can troubleshoot network and device issues.

The Tools menu option is not visible to users who do not have troubleshooting permission.
HPE Aruba Networking Central does not support performing diagnostic checks on offline devices.

The Tools page is divided into the following tabs:

  • Network Check—Allows you to run diagnostic checks on networks and troubleshoot client connectivity issues. You must have admin privileges or read-write privileges to perform network checks.
  • Device Check—Allows you to run diagnostic checks and troubleshoot switches. You must have admin privileges or read-write privileges to perform device checks.
  • Commands—Allows you to perform network health check on devices at an advanced level using command categories. Read-only users can also perform advance checks.
  • Console—Allows you to open a remote console for a CLI session through SSH Secure Shell. SSH is a network protocol that provides secure access to a remote device. for a gateway, switch, and access point to troubleshoot device issues.
