Configuring Authentication and DHCP Related Client Events on AOS-CX

You can configure client events to generate authentication and DHCP Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. A network protocol that enables a server to automatically assign an IP address to an IP-enabled device from a defined range of numbers configured for a given network. events of clients. The DHCP events will be generated only if DHCP snooping is enabled.

Client events can be enabled on the following switches running AOS-CX 10.11 or later versions:

  • AOS-CX 6200 switch series
  • AOS-CX 6300 switch series
  • AOS-CX 6400 switch series
  • AOS-CX 8325 switch series
  • AOS-CX 8360 switch series
  • AOS-CX 8400 switch series
  • AOS-CX 10000 switch series

The information related to client authentication is not generated for AOS-CX 8400 switch series.

To configure client events, complete the following steps:

    • To select a switch group in the filter:
      1. Set the filter to a group.

  2. Click Telemetry > Client Events.

  3. Enable client events on the switch by moving the Authentication and DHCP Events toggle to the on position.
  4. To save the changes, click Save.

    The generated client events can be viewed in the output of the show running-config command.
