Installing Service Pack
Admins must prepare all the Aruba Central On-Premises nodes to upgrade with HPE release Service Pack. The Service pack consists of a number of firmwares and other associated drivers of different components such as Power Controller, NIC , ILO5, RAID A redundant array of inexpensive disks or redundant array of independent disks (RAID) is a data storage virtualization technology combining multiple drive components into one or multiple logical units for performance improvement, data redundancy, improvement, or both. , BIOS Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) program is used by a computer's microprocessor to start the system when powered on. It also manages the data flow between the operating system and other attached devices, for example, keyboard, hard disk, mouse, video adapter, etc. , and so on. This Service pack fixes any kind of known vulnerabilities and provides security updates for the drivers along with additional features.
At present, out-of-the-box Aruba Central On-Premises appliance are 2.5.7 or lower version and hence, has a lower ILO version and firmware version. For proper functioning of the Aruba Central On-Premises nodes, It is recommended by HPE to keep ILO to the latest Service Pack as it improves reliability and performance of the servers.
To install the ILO service pack, complete the following steps:

Download new ILO Service Pack from HPE Support Portal, HPE Support Center.

Download custom patched Service Pack by HPE from, SPP Custom Download.
- Aruba Central On-Premises supports only "2022.09.01.00", "2023.03.00.00", , "2023.09.00.03"service pack versions.

On checking Service Pack version, the version details is displayed as Unknown if the service pack is not one of the supported versions or, the user checks it before applying the Service Pack.

On checking the service pack version, if the version is supported, it will display either "2022.09.01.00" or "2023.03.00.00" service pack versions or "Higher than supported" version.

For a fast and simultaneous installation of the SP ISO An ISO file is an identical copy of an entire optical disk for example, a CD or a DVD, archived into a single file. This ISO file is also referred to as an ISO image, which is a smaller-sized copy of large sets of data. image, host the SP ISO image on the webserver for example, apache which is used to mount the ISO from ILO virtual disk option.

Login to ILO with copilo user.

Login to COP through the console with copadmin user.

Select option 4 System Configuration, and then select option 9 Upgrade ILO using ServicePack.

Select option 1 Trigger ILO upgrade using ServicePack and enter Yes.

Mount the Service Pack ISO that is downloaded, and perform the installation.

- Service pack installation has down time period of 1 hour for each node in the cluster.
- You can trigger the Service Pack upgrade only from the ILO console. This operation cannot be done from the COP CLI Command-Line Interface. A console interface with a command line shell that allows users to execute text input as commands and convert these commands to appropriate functions. console.
- After the service pack is upgraded, you can check the service pack version and reset it from the ILO console as well as from the COP CLI console.
