Monitoring Third-Party Devices

The switch dashboard allows you to monitor third-party devices, such as Cisco 9200 and 9300 series switches through Aruba Central On-Premises.

To view third-party switches in the monitoring pages, you must first onboard the devices in HPE GreenLake Account Home. For more information, see Third-Party Devices.

To navigate to the dashboard for third-party switches, complete the following steps:

  1. In the Aruba Central On-Premises app, set the filter to one of the options under Groups, Labels, or Sites. For all devices, set the filter to Global.

    The dashboard context for the selected filter is displayed.

  2. Under Manage, click Devices > Switches.

    A list of switches is displayed in the List view.

  3. Click a third-party switch listed under Device Name.

    The dashboard context for the specific switch is displayed.

The following table lists all the available menu items in the Aruba Central On-Premises app for the third-party switch dashboard.

The Actions drop-down list is not available for third-party devices in the switch dashboard.

Description

Manage > Overview

Summary

Displays details about a specific switch, including device information, network summary, and port and hardware status. The Summary tab also displays details on client data traffic usage and switch stack members. Use the time range filter to change the time period for the displayed information.

Hardware

Displays switch hardware details, including status of power supplies and fans, CPU and memory utilization, and device temperature. Use the time range filter to change the time period for the displayed information.

Manage > Neighbors

Neighbors

Displays details about the devices neighboring the switch. Use the time range filter to change the time period for the displayed information.

Manage > LAN

Ports

Displays details about ports and the LAGs configured on the switch. Use the time range filter to change the time period for the displayed information.

VLAN

Displays VLAN information configured on the switch along with details about tagged and untagged ports. Use the time range filter to change the time period for the displayed information.

Analyze > Alerts

Alerts

Displays all types of alerts generated for events pertaining to device provisioning, configuration, and user management. For more information, see Third-Party Device Alerts.

Analyze > Audit Trail

Audit Trail

Displays the details of logs generated for all device management, configuration, and user management events triggered in Aruba Central On-Premises. Use the time range filter to change the time period for the displayed information.

Reports

The Reports tab allows you to create, manage, and view various reports. You can create recurrent reports, generate reports on demand, or schedule reports to run at a later time.
