Datacenter Redundancy
In networking, Datacenter Redundancy (DR) is the practice of duplicating critical network components. The availability of services is essential for business continuity. By implementing DR, you configure two HPE Aruba Networking Central On-Premises clusters as primary and secondary that are located in different geographical locations. This ensures that if one cluster goes into a down state or encounters a failure, the peer cluster attains primary role and manages the network with minimum downtime.
A failover is the ability to switch automatically to a redundant cluster. In case of primary cluster failure, the failover is triggered and redundant cluster takes the role of primary to eliminate negative impact on users.
The Datacenter Redundancy is processed in the following methods:

Auto Failover: This is automatic failover method where the peer system switches over as primary after the specified time and takes control of the processes when a failure is detected.

Trigger Failover: This is to manually trigger the failover if you want to switch the primary as required.
